Bear Lanes Shopping Centre and Workman Retail & Leisure are delighted to announce they are investing in marketing services to support their local retailers.
Built in 1989, Bear Lanes Shopping Centre replaced the longstanding Bear Hotel in the centre of Newtown. Bear Lanes is a modern partly open air/part covered shopping centre providing the focus point of all main retailing activity within the town centre and is the only shopping centre in Newtown, Powys. There are three entrances - on Broad Street, High Street and Back Lane. Bear Lanes has a variety of well-known high street shops and local independents – all with their own individual style.
New marketing partner OnBrand – specialists in retailer marketing, social media, website and local PR - are working closely with the management team to develop a deeper understanding of their customer needs and current experience, giving insight into how the business can adapt to change, and how best to communicate with their audience.
Retailers at Bear Lanes Shopping Centre are all being supported with monthly social media, website news, seasonal activities and targeted campaigns. This is part of a long term marketing plan to engage with a wider audience both in the centre and online.
Councillor Joy Jones said “An extra push on awareness for the shops in the town centre is exactly what we need. We look forward to seeing how the new campaigns will raise awareness among the local community and attract a wider tourism audience.”
Kae Margetts – Centre Manager says, “We’re excited to be working with a marketing partner for the first time since I have been the centre manager at Bear Lanes Shopping Centre.”
